Peek Inside a Book - A Princess in Theory

When I was deciding to come back to the blog I was looking through all the blogging memes that the blogs I read follow. I had done Book Beginnings and The Friday 56 a handful of times, but over at Mixed Book Bag, JC merged them together and I really like that idea.  So borrowing from her I'm going to start linking up to both Book Beginnings on Friday from Rose City Reader and The Friday 56 with Freda's Voice.

This week I'm reading: A Princess in Theory (Reluctant Royals #1) by Alyssa Cole

A Princess in Theory (Reluctant Royals,รข€¦

It Begins:
Sender: LikotsiAdelele@KingdomOfThesolo.the
Subject: Salutations from the Royal Family of Thesolo

Dear Ms. Smith

I hope my letter finds you well.  I, Likotsi Adelele, assistant to Hist Royal Highness, have sought you out high and low over the last few monthsm, at the behest of the most exalted - and most curious - Prince Thabiso.

On Page 56:
Thabiso debated what to do. He'd removed the salmon from the man's lap earlier. Was he supposed to retrieve the ice?

Verdict:
Really enjoying this book, sadly I haven't had time to really sit and read so I'm reading a chapter here, two here and awaiting until I can open the book again. I can't wait to get my hands on book two, A Duke by Default.

Author: Kerri Carpenter
Stars:  3 of 5
Review: I read this book as part of a judging role, my results have been turned in so I wanted to finally share my thoughts - A little cheesey with the social media gossip posts, but a cute quick read. I'll be going back and reading book 1 before I move onto book 3.

Author: Marie Johnston
Stars: 2 of 5
Review: I read this book as part of a judging role, my results have been turned in so I wanted to finally share my thoughts - This book had potential based on the summary, but there was just way too much going on in this book for anything to feel like it got the right amount of focus to make it satisfying.

Peek Inside a Book - The President is Missing

This week I'm reading: The President is Missing by Bill Clinton and James Patterson

The President Is Missing

It Begins:
Thursday, May 10

Chapter 1

"The House Select Committee will come to order..."

On Page 56:
A hit of realization comes to the Speaker's expression. He leans back against the couch like a man who's holding all the cards. "You're saying out hearings will interfere with what you're doing."

Verdict:
I'm not a big Patterson fan, but this author pairing intrigued me so I had to put it on hold.  I'm slowing making my way through it and it's good so far...the president hasn't gone missing yet but there are a couple avenues that could lead to his missing status.
