I Want It That Way by Ann Aguirre
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
I had a particular ear worm bugging me while I read this book. (It's back now!) It was worth humming a song from high school because this book was a really enjoyable read.
Nadia is a small town girl who heads off to college and is determined to realize her dreams. She's got a plan and that's just how she wants it. Then she meets Ty her really sexy red headed downstairs neighbor. Ty also has a plan and that plan is focused on raising his son and slowly getting his degree. He doesn't want any complications and a relationship tops his list.
I loved that this was small town girl goes to big city for college. In this case big city is just another small town but bigger than the small town where she's from.
I liked Nadia and Ty's relationship. He set the boundaries of keeping things away from his son and she respected that.
I liked all of Nadia's roommates, they were really good secondary characters. Their story lines didn't interfere and only added to the overall feel of college life.
The one thing I really didn't like, and the reason this was 4 stars, was the back story with Ty's last relationship with his son's mother.
I received a review copy from the publisher.
