Little Thoughts About Books and Stuff

I've changed up my display again this year.  It makes for a really cute design, but it was a pain to print on the paper bags. Click here for past year's displays.

Here's  my post from last year  with the displays from my first two years of Blind Date with a Book. Since I noticed a number of patrons checking their checkout slips for book titles and then returning the books unopened I changed things up this year to try to cut out that habit. I picked 10 books all about the same size, wrapped them and numbered them. When they get checked out it will be by number only until they get it home and unwrap the book. In honor of Amelia Bedelia's 50th Birthday I put up a book display featuring my five favorite books.

Last year I put together a book display called Blind Date with a Book.  I found the idea through another librarian's post and thought it was great.  Last year I wrapped 19 books and 15 books were checked out.  We asked that people reviewed the book but unfortunately only two people returned reviews.
