Today is National Comic Book Day and I thought I'd share some of my favorite series with you. First up is the series that's still ongoing the new Ms. Marvel : I need to catch up with this series, but I have loved the first few issues. Kamala Khan is just trying to be a normal teenager living in Jersey City. Things get weird when this fog shows up and covers the city. Kamala wakes up with some super powers. She's on a delicate balance to begin with between her traditional Muslim parents and her desire to just be a normal American teen.  Now add in these superpowers she's not quite sure how to control and things get interesting.   There are nine issues out already with more on the way. Sticking with NJ and people with superpowers there's Jersey Gods: I randomly found this one while browsing in my local comic book store. For the last four years I have been on a goal to read the entirety of Nora Roberts's backlist. If things go smoothly I should finish off (almost) all the published titles. ( My progress ) I just started The Calhoun Women series. Then I have The Dream Trilogy and the Stars of Mirtha trilogy. After that the only book remaining on my list is: I'm asking for help in locating a copy of this book I can borrow to read. It's hard to find and I refuse to spend over $60. I want to finish this challenge but there are limits. So if you have a copy, know someone who has a copy, would you be willing to lend it?

Rock Courtship by Nalini Singh My rating: 4 of 5 stars During Rock Addiction reader's met David, the drummer for School Boy Choir, and Thea, Molly's sister and School Boy Choir's publicist. David has always had a thing for Thea, but her rule on not dating clients (or musicians) but him at a loss. We know that Molly suggests that David send Thea a memo, she can't resist them. And we know that it was a good suggestion, but what really went on between the two of them with those memos? In this novella we get that story.  It overlaps slightly with the back story of David's attraction to Thea and the first time she turned him down.  We get to read those memos and get another look at this couple. Instead of the instant attraction/relationship that we saw in book one, this one is a slow boil. (I really do mean boil). I just wish it was a little longer.

Reader's Workouts is a weekly event which is hosted over at  Joy's Book Blog . --- I've been slacking in my attendance at the gym. Without someone to go with me, I find I can easily talk myself out of going.  This week my friend and gym buddy went back to her school schedule which means we can get to the gym together on Tuesdays. In my book, one day is better than no days. My goal for this week is to not talk myself out of going to the gym on Thursday. I find I need the treadmill to get a good walk in, otherwise I find a walk around the block turns into a slow meander while I listen to my audiobook. Yesterday, I didn't start a new audiobook. I wanted to finish another episode of: I love this podcast and sadly over the spring/summer I fell behind in listening. I caught up and only have to listen to the new episode that came out Monday.  So Thursday, I'm going to have to start a new audiobook and I have no idea what to listen too. I currently have...

I Want It That Way by Ann Aguirre My rating: 4 of 5 stars I had a particular ear worm bugging me while I read this book. (It's back now!) It was worth humming a song from high school because this book was a really enjoyable read. Nadia is a small town girl who heads off to college and is determined to realize her dreams.  She's got a plan and that's just how she wants it.  Then she meets Ty her really sexy red headed downstairs neighbor. Ty also has a plan and that plan is focused on raising his son and slowly getting his degree. He doesn't want any complications and a relationship tops his list. I loved that this was small town girl goes to big city for college.  In this case big city is just another small town but bigger than the small town where she's from. I liked Nadia and Ty's relationship. He set the boundaries of keeping things away from his son and she respected that. I liked all of Nadia's roommates, they were really good secondary char...

Rock Addiction by Nalini Singh My rating: 4 of 5 stars I'm a big fan of Nalini Singh's Psy-Changeling series. So I jumped at the chance to read an advance copy of the book and I wasn't disappointed. The beginning was a little slow.  There was also a feeling of missing part of the story, mostly the background history between Molly, her sister, and their father. The first half of the book takes place in New Zealand. Molly's home playing field. Molly wants a quite life. Trips to the market. Work at the library. A simple life.  Then she meets Fox and all that simple gets kind of complicated. Molly is willing to let her life get a little complicated and spend time with Fox while the bad is in the area but after that she wants to go back to simple.  It all goes back to Molly's past. There was some kind of scandal with her father and it just destroyed her life. She introduces Fox to her simple life. However, that simple life, doesn't work for Fox.  He takes ...

Reader's Workouts is a weekly event which is hosted over at  Joy's Book Blog . --- I woke up Saturday morning with some slight back pain. I wasn't sure if I was going to be able to do the walk, but was determined to show up to support the rest of my group. I got there and took my time walking around to get signed in and trying to find the group. My back was feeling okay so I did the walk. I had so much fun, but couldn't stick around for the after party. My back just couldn't handle standing much longer. I spent the rest of the day just chilling in the house with a friend. It was worth it!

Longbourn  by Jo Baker (BCD) (4 of 5 stars) I will admit that I couldn't wait to finish listening and picked up the book at work and read the last few chapters at lunch.  I really liked how the novel was set during the time of P&P but it wasn't just a retelling.  It was a whole new story and I cared more about what was going on Sarah, Mrs. Hill and James than I did with the parts that reflected the events of P&P.   The novel is in three volumes and the third one was the hardest for me to get through.  It was like when a show you love ends a season on a cliffhanger and when it comes back it doesn't pick right back up.  The third volume covered a lot of background information and eventually caught back up with the ending of volume 2 (that's when I started to get desperate to be in the car).  I highly recommend this book!
