Reader's Workouts is a weekly event which is hosted over at Joy's Book Blog.
I'm a Fitbit wearer, I like that it helps me keep active and moving during the week. If you also wear one feel free to friend me!

Things haven't been going good for me on the fitness front, since my gym buddy had her scheduled changed for the summer I found it easier to make excuses to not go walk the track or go walk on the treadmill at the gym. I still track my food and try to meet my daily step count (I'm a low step count).
Things haven't been great the last few weeks, I've slacked on tracking my food and this past weekend all but gave up on wearing my FitBit. Needless to say, by Sunday night I was sick of me and made myself a promise that I was going to the gym to walk at least a half hour on the treadmill.
I'm happy to say I kept my promise and on Monday morning I went to the gym and put in a solid half hour. I had planned to just walk at a steady normal pace but as I started to go, I felt like I wanted to do a nice cardio speed walk. I will say compared to the old guy a few machines down from me my speed walk is another person's easy stroll.
I listened to music, but I'm getting ready to download a new audiobook to my iPhone for my gym listens. I'm thinking of Tony Danza's I'd Like to Apologize to Every Teacher I Ever Had: My Year as a Rookie Teacher at Northeast High.
My plan is to get back to the gym Thursday after work, barring any disasters, I should be able to hold myself to that promise.
I hope everyone else is doing good!

Excellent idea to make a promise you can stick to and build from there. It makes a huge difference to me to have something to listen to that I want to hear. Usually, for me, that's public radio podcasts.
ReplyDeleteI catch up on my NPR at other times, mostly just Wait, Wait. If I listened to that at the gym I'd be the weird lady laughing out loud.
ReplyDeleteHa! I've been that lady!
