These last few months I've done readings for four different book discussion groups. The only one I've done each month is the reading for the group at my local library. I'll be taking over the group in 2020! I'm so excited. We're currently going through our selection process to pick the books we'll be reading next year.

Review: It was a bit slow moving for me at first, but then it started to pick up and I found myself really pulled into the story. In the discussion, since this was the kick off to the library system's online discussion group, it was mostly staff and as such we all had interesting takes. One being for such a high end ship it's WiFi was pretty crappy!

Review: This graphic novel series had been on my TBR list for awhile so I was excited it was picked for discussion. I enjoyed the story, but not as much as I thought I would so I don't know if I'll keep reading. I will say I enjoyed the art and even those weird species with the TVs for heads.

Review: Tom Sawyer has never been my favorite and it's not even that he's an unlikable character that you're supposed to dislike, I just don't like him, that said, I do enjoy the story.

Review: I really enjoyed this book, I like deep dive history books like this one. It's a part of history that gets skipped over, but is sooo important. I ended up doing some research on more of the FBI's history at the time and even looking into the area since a famous food TV personality is from the area in question.

Author: Lisa See
Rating: 4 of 5 stars
Group: Mercer County Girls Night Out (Local Meetup Group)
Review: I was heartbroken by this book, just the lives these women had to live and the foot binding was just OMG. It moved a little slowly at times, but overall I really recommend this book, I'm going to be checking out some other Lisa See books.
Title: Before We Were Yours
Author: Lisa Wingate
Rating: 4 of 5 stars
Group: For the Love of Reading (Local Library Book Club)
Review: I read this for another book club, so it was nice to not have to read another book, just skim to remind myself of the story. I really liked the past story, and could have done without the present story, well aspects of the present story, like did we need a romance. I also did research for this on the real person behind the children's home and was horrified with the true story.
