2012 Color Coded Reading Challenge


I had said I wasn't going to do any reading challenges in 2012, but then I saw this one and thought that it sounded fun! So I'm going to participate in just this one challenge.

Here are the rules:
*Read nine books in the following categories.
1. A book with "Blue" in the title.
2. A book with "Red" in the title.
3. A book with "Yellow" in the title.
4. A book with "Green" in the title.
5. A book with "Brown" in the title.
6. A book with "Black" in the title.
7. A book with "White" in the title.
8. A book with any other color in the title (Purple, Orange, Turquoise, Pink, Magneta, etc.).
9. A book with a word that implies color (Rainbow, Polka-dot, Plaid, Paisley, Stripe, etc.).

    Interesting idea! Do you have any books selected yet? The Color Purple seems like an obvious choice. I'd recommend The Yellow Wallpaper also although I think it's technically a (long) short story or novella than a full-length book.

    I read The Blue-eyed Devil by Lisa Kleypas for Blue and I'm thinking the Green Mile for Green and I've got True Colors for the color themed one.

    Ooo, interesting choices. What about Devil in the White City (sounds interesting) and The Red Tent (got good buzz)? I still can't think of anything for brown or black (except Brown Bear but I don't think you'd be interested in a children's board book!). This is a fun challenge just to think of books that would fit the parameters.

Peek Inside a Book - Becoming

Book Beginnings on Friday from  Rose City Reader   The Friday 56 with  Freda's Voice . Nonfiction November: My Year in Nonfiction
